When I tell people the name of my business is pocket nibbles consulting, they usually pause, unsure what to think and then smile and move on.

It’s not your typical consulting brand name. And that’s kind of the point. Let me explain.

The Original Pocket Nibbles

I grew up in the 90s with a little brother in the city of Chicago. Both of my parents were full time workers. As many families with little kids, we’d go out for walks, visit museums, ride the El, and sit on the sidelines of YMCA soccer games. And my mom, in true mom fashion, was always prepared.

Tucked into her coat pocket? Snacks. Carrot sticks. Popcorn. Clementines.
Just enough to stave off the crankiness, fuel the next stretch of walking, or keep us quiet until we got home.

When she saw us start to fade or frown, she’d reach into her pocket and say, “Here. Have some pocket nibbles.”

‘Pocket nibbles’ became our family phrase for the practical, bite-sized support that kept us going, the small things that made a big difference.

And honestly, decades later, I still use the term. My French kids know what it means. So does my husband, who assumed it was a real English expression until a few years ago.
Spoiler: it’s not. But maybe it should be.

The Consulting Connection

About five years ago, I bought the domain pocketnibbles.com on a whim. I thought maybe I’d start a snack brand someday. A small waterproof snack bag that fits on your belt loop for kids (and adults!) on adventures. I even started brainstorming the perfect snack combo to have the salty and the sweet together in one.

Fast forward to being laid off in 2024 and standing at a crossroads.
What I knew: I wanted to take a shot at marketing operations consulting.
What I didn’t want: to name it Chloe Pott Consulting. I wanted the business to be bigger than just me.

And then it clicked.

Pocket nibbles wasn’t just a cute story or a domain I already owned. It certainly was a good starting point, but it was a perfect metaphor for the kind of support I wanted to offer.

Snack-Sized, Strategic Support

Marketing operations is full of pressure to scale, to automate, to prove ROI, but most teams are under-resourced, overworked, and stuck with patchy processes. It’s overwhelming.
